COVID-19 NOTICE
09/25/2020: Leg Up Therapy Board of Directors has unanimously decided to suspend services until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe it is not possible to safely provide hippotherapy / equine assisted activities while following CDC guidelines for social distancing and wearing face masks. Many of the children we treat who have special needs are not able /
willing to wear a face mask and do not respond to others wearing face coverings. We look forward to the day when we can safely
resume our services without putting our clients, volunteers, staff
and their families at risk. Thank you for your understanding.

Why Therapy on a Horse?
The horse moves the rider’s hips and pelvis in the same three planes of motion as they move when a human walks. This repetitive, rhythmic motion helps organize a disorganized nervous system to improve balance, coordination, and core stability.
