March 2019 - COVID-19 Update
Due to COVID-19 precautions/ Stay-at-Home order Leg Up therapy cancels its Spring session and closes until further notice. The safety of our clients, volunteers and staff is always our first priority. We are cautiously optimistic that we will reopen in October 2020.
May 2019 - Verde Valley Kiwania’s
Leg Up Therapy is pleased to announce a grant from the Verde Valley Kiwania’s to support hippotherapy services in the Verde Valley.
August 2019 - Nutrena Feed It Forward
Nutrena believes “A single animal can make a big impact” that’s why it supports programs like Leg Up. August 2019 – Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation
Leg Up Therapy was honored to be selected as one of 30 northern Arizona organizations by the Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation which “supports the communities of northern Arizona by raising the level of health and quality of life.” A generous grant from the Northern Arizona Healthcare Foundation is enabling Leg Up Therapy, Inc. to build its capacity to serve more special needs children by acting as a Center for Excellence to train additional Speech/Occupational/Physical Therapists in hippotherapy. The grant is also enabling Leg Up Therapy to evaluate the impact of hippotherapy on persons receiving Leg Up Therapy’s services. https://www.nahealthfoundation.org/media
September 2019 – American Quarter Horse Association
A grant from the American Quarter Horse Association will allow leg Up Therapy to award two more children scholarships to participate in Fall 2019 treatment sessions.
December – Parelli Foundation
The Parelli Foundation has gifted bridles and other natural horsemanship equipment to Leg Up Therapy, Inc. offering staff and volunteers to use natural horsemanship techniques with the organization’s therapy horses. The Parelli Foundation is focused on “helping create a better work for horses and humans through natural horsemanship education.” https://parellifoundation.org/
