-Mother of 7 year old with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder
“I just came from what was supposed to be a Speech Therapy but you’ve got him talking so much more than he did there. This is fun!”
-Father of 8 year old boy with autism
My son has always loved the idea of all things horse. I knew there was a “magic” of sorts in the human connection to a horse but I had never experienced it first hand. Honestly, I was a bit doubtful that this type of therapy would do something to help my sons speech and occupational delays. Boy was I wrong!!!
Cyndi and the crew were outstanding in their understanding of his individual pace and needs. It was far beyond my expectations to see my son ride a horse bareback and accomplish tasks the “evaluations” and “evaluators “ said he couldn’t do.
The horse “Vegas” and the team will forever part of our Journey and I can’t wait to see them again soon.
-Kimberly , mother of special needs child
“I was able to observe hippotherapy in action with children I have worked with for years and know well. Once on the horse I saw immediate improvement in their muscle tone, sitting balance, communication with both the horse and the people around them. I observed chronically anxious kids become more calm, confident, and happy.
-Kathryn Barrett, Pediatric Occupational Therapist
“My son always gains better movement and relaxation in his body after riding at Leg Up Therapy…his seizure activity is less and his smiles when he is here are great. He says he loves the “not saddle with the handle” so he can feel the horse
- Christy , mother of teenage son with autism
“This isn’t therapy Mom – this is FUN”
– 8 year old girl with developmental delay
